We, the Fremont County Democrats believe in a paradigm
shift away from war and corporate profiteering to the comprehensive health of
our planet and its’ inhabitants.
Our commitment to the environment includes:

Keeping our public lands public.

Preserving biodiversity in our ecosystem and
preserving wildlife and wildlife habitat.

Keeping human population in sensible
relationship with the carrying capacity of our lands, overseeing the development
of unincorporated areas of the state and developing a comprehensive land use
policy.

Reducing the effects of global warming.
·
Investing in renewable energy sources and
becoming energy independent.
Our commitment to conflict resolution includes:

Peaceful and compassionate diplomacy.
·
Responsible economic aid to developing
countries.
·
Restoring the reputation and status of our
nation.
·
The rapid, responsible withdrawal from Iraq.
Our commitment to Economic and Fiscal Responsibility
includes:

Securing both public and private retirement
plans
·
Putting into place a sustainable or steady
state economy.
·
Maintaining a balanced budget.
·
Systematic replacement and repair of our
nation’s infrastructure.
·
Cost effective and fuel efficient modes of
transporting people and freight.
·
The development and advancement of “green
collar” jobs.
·
A tax system that asks all Americans to pay
their fair share.
Our commitment to civil and constitutional rights
includes:

The censure of all forms of torture and the
supporters of torture.
·
Economic and civil equity for all Americans
regardless of race, religion, gender and gender identity, or sexual orientation.
·
Insuring that all Americans have the right to
privacy including a woman’s reproductive choice.
·
A renewed commitment to the rights of
indigenous people.
·
A compassionate and humane solution to the
issue of illegal immigration.
Our commitment to equitable services includes:

Equitable services or Wyoming citizens and
communities including the Wind River Indian Reservation.
·
Fair distribution of state resources and
economic opportunities for all counties and communities.
Our commitment to lifting families out of poverty
includes:

A financial investment to move people out of
poverty by increasing access to economic and educational opportunities.

Eradication of food insecurity for all
Americans.
·
A living wage and fair benefits for all
Americans that will enable them to provide for their families and their future.
·
Insuring veterans and their families are not
economically left behind.
·
Access to affordable, livable, and safe
housing for all Americans.
Our commitment to Health Care includes:

Assessable, affordable high quality
comprehensive health care including parity for mental health and substance abuse
issues for every American.

A Health Care policy that emphasizes
preventative care.
·
Quality Health Care for our veterans.
Our commitment to Education includes:
·
Competent, well compensated teachers.
·
Classrooms that are structured so all students
have equal access to instruction.
·
Affordable post-secondary education that meets
the demands of a competitive global economy.
·
A return to the fundamental philosophy of
education, which emphasized teaching rather than testing and to abandon unfunded
mandates and punitive consequences for under-performing schools.

Adequate funding for early childhood and
special education.
